I have found some extra resources that  are also talking about user persona/scenario this few days.

The page talks about the web user profile. Actually what it talks is just the similiar ideas as lecture. However, if you do not understand in the lecture, it is a good reference to look for as it explains in a simple way. It’s easier to read and understand.

The passage points out some key points why and how we should create user profiles before a web page design starts. Here is the summary:

    • User profiles help to keep the project team and clients focused on the users and their needs.
    • Pesona is very helpful to be able to refer back when functionality and requirements questions come up.
    • Generally, 2-4 profiles is enough to represent a wide range of users. It is not necessart to create profiles for every single user group or scenario.
    • User persona can be used in conjunction with user scenario to offer a comprehensive picture of a sample user and their interaction with the site.

Besides, the gdoss.com is actually a very good web that contains a lot of useful information for web designer. It contains some resources about past blurbs and research papers too.
